Call
it luck or maybe just the blessing of our good friend Sam
Beller, we had great weather for both the 33rd Annual Stuart
Boat Show in January and for the Inaugural Fort Pierce Family
Fun Boat Poker Run in February.
The Stuart Boat Show saw record breaking attendance for the
three day event/ Sales from the event are reported to be strong.
New this year was the "Entertainment Deck" sponsored
by Yacht Clubs of America, which featured fishing seminars
from both Captain "Squeaky" Kelley and Captain Ed
Zyak. The swim suit fashion show produced by Paige Conlan
(who also produces the upcoming swim suit edition for Southern
Boating Magazine) was a must see.
"This year's show was our most successful yet" said
promoter Rick Allen of Allsports Productions. "We look
forward to the continued growth of this show" This was
just the second year at the Dixie Hwy site which connects
the marinas of Stuart Harbor Marinas, The Allied Richard Bertram
Group and Stuart Cay.
In February, we had the Inaugural "Ft. Pierce Family
Fun Boat Poker Run". Again the weather was picture perfect.
The event had 25 boats participate with more than 70 players
participating. Thank you to all who participated in this first
time event.
"The event exceed our expectations" said Steve Stiglbauer
of Harbortown Marina-Fort Pierce and the chairman for the
event. It was a fun day for all who participated. After completing
all six stops a Marina Party was held for all who played.
Bill Gazella produced the winning had, an ace high flush.
In addition to a great day, the Marine Industries Association
of the Treasure Coast was able to donate $500 dollars to both
the St. Lucie County Artificial Reef Program and the Fort
Pierce Sea Scout Ship 404.
"We look forward to this being an annual event,"
said Stiglbauer. |
