Anchors Aweigh Marina sponsored a "Teach a Kid to Fish" seminar, which gave 60 children ages 4-12 a hand's on experience.

The kids learned first and foremost to protect the environment by not littering, then they learned how to assemble a rod and reel, to tie the fisherman's knot, set the drag, and then to cast.

Free rod and reel combos were given to all those children who participated.

Thanks to AllSports Productions for providing the combos and for Bill Hetzel and Pat Rust from Ranger Boats for sharing their fishing knowledge with these young fishing enthusiasts!

Captain Squeeky Kelly and Captain Ed Zyak also gave some great fishing seminars.

Captain Kelly gave tips on fishing the beach and what equipment and styles work best.

Captain Zyak shared tips on inshore fishing, the right tackle for fishing the Treasure Coast area, and how important the right approach and presentation are to catching a big one!
